Job Title:   Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Summary:

The Bioinformatics Analyst is responsible for executing, maintaining, and improving clinical bioinformatics pipelines for biological data analysis. This role involves close collaboration with clinical and laboratory personnel, adherence to regulatory standards, and contributions to the development and documentation of validated workflows.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Execute, monitor, and troubleshoot clinical bioinformatics pipelines to ensure accurate and timely data processing.
• Develop and optimize analysis workflows as needed.
• Validate changes and improvements to bioinformatics workflows.
• Write, maintain, and revise regulatory documentation and protocols.
• Organize, transfer, and archive molecular data according to data management policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in programming languages related to bioinformatics (Python, Bash, R, or similar).
• Experience with command-line interface and familiarity with high-performance computing environments.
• Ability to follow, document, and implement regulatory protocols.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of molecular biology and programming principles.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science or related field required; Master’s degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a computational laboratory, clinical, or research environment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
